The most northern of the three Baltic States, Estonia offers more than most travellers think. Culturally linked to its Nordic neighbours, Estonia shrugged off the Soviet rule and has built a proud independent nation, which is now considered one of the most technologically advanced in the world, with super-fast broadband, Wi-Fi across the entire country, and a strong IT sector developing the likes of Skype and Transferwise.

All this technology however has not meant it’s towns have lost their medieval charm. It’s capital Tallinn was one of the major ports of the Hanseatic league, and most of the old town dates back to the 14th century, leaving a charming city of colourful houses and narrow cobbled street, which are perfectly explored on foot.
